Hello all! I hope
that every family had a happy Easter. We will be having our banquet on
May 4, 2008 at the Gaiser Park in Seymour at 3:00 pm. They have a
volleyball court, basketball, baseball, horseshoes, and of course we
will have a corn hole game. The district will supply the drinks and
meat along with the place settings. We hope that every one will come
even if you are not getting awards.
Please keep
looking at the mcdiamond website to keep informed of any changes in
shows or any other updates. They are now putting show bills on the
site. Our points are listed on there for 2008. If you have any
questions about NBHA you will need to either email Bob Hess or myself.
The owner of the website is not an NBHA director. Bob’s email is
barrellhess@aol.com and our email is
bdrfarm@wmconnect.com.
Please add your
NBHA number on all entry forms at the shows. This helps to ensure you
are getting your points. You should also keep in mind, that if you let
your membership expire, you only have a 30 day grace period to renew or
you will forfeit your points.

Hello all! I hope
that every family had a good holiday season.
We had our annual
directors meeting in December. I know most of you have got your letters
from Bob by now and know about the changes to the show this year. The
dates will be July 10, 11, 12, 13, 2008. Entries will need to be
postmarked by 6/14/08. All late entries will be $50 per entry. Youth
and Senior entries will close 9 am on Thursday. Open entries will close
on Friday at 9 am. Entry forms and show bills will be mailed out May 1,
2008. To compete at the State Show a Member must have competed in three
IN NBHA sanctioned shows for points within the Members district from
7/16/07 to 7/8/08. You do need to be a current member to compete at the
State Show.
This year the
districts will not be required to work, but those that volunteer will
get a special shirt that will only be given to the workers of the
arena. There will be a sign up sheet at the State Show. District 4
will be in charge of the opening ceremonies on the Thursday. If you are
interested in participating get with Richard. We will be responsible
for the magnets, barrels, and the table top barrels, photo site, and
helping with awards.
District 3 is
trying to set up entertainment for one day of the show. They will also
be selling shirts.
There have been
some changes this year that I need to pass on. Dogs will not be allowed
around the arena. They can be in the park area, but not around the
bleachers and arena. There should be no glass bottles around the arena
area. The park will have more police patrolling the area and will not
be renting any golf carts. One thing that all of us need to keep in
mind is SAFETY. With this said, we will be setting the arena up
differently to promote a safer arena. It will be much like the way
Nationals and World shows are set up.
Remember the more
sponsors that you get for the show the more free stuff you get. You
also have the chance to get money for our year end awards. We will have
the Tuff Enough to wear Pink again this year.
This year the
awards banquet will be in April. My grandfather passed away and I have
been very busy helping my mother with my grandma who has Alzheimers, I
do apologize for not having the banquet in March. Please make sure to
keep the Newsletters for all of the Show Dates. I try to put them on
the newsletters as I get them scheduled. One more thing, at the shows
please be patient and kind with the office personnel. If you have a
problem with the office help, please come and get with Richard or
myself.
