Baker Area Recreation Association, Inc “BARA” and the town of Baker has supported its equestrian community for over 20 years and helped provide a place that allows residents of Okaloosa County and surrounding communities to enjoy this lifestyle. Baker Arena Recreation Association, Inc provides a venue for many events including horse shows, dog shows, working cow events, community gatherings such as reunions and weddings and more.
Today, we also offer a friendly environment within a picturesque setting on Hwy 4, developed with the safety, security and enjoyment of you and your family in mind.
BARA is pleased to offer the following amenities to serve Baker and Northwest Florida complete with:
- Covered lighted Barnhill main arena with large cooling fan
- Open upper lighted Jerry Cook arena – great for calf roping.
- Practice ring attached to main arena
- Holly barns & Rossi Barns provide stable areas that house 216 stalls
- Horse wash racks centrally located
- Round Pens for warm up
- Main arena has concession area, restrooms, an announcer booth with PA system and office space
- Bleachers to accommodate approximately 2400 spectators
- Ample parking for events and shows
- 29 RV hook ups with water and electricity
- On-site security and management
- Easy access; conveniently located on Hwy 4 just South of Baker off Hwy 90.
- Community Center and exhibition building – great for reunions, business meetings, weddings.
- Walk track at main entrance with outdoor lighting
- Children’s playground area
- Tennis courts
- Archery Range
All this is set amidst 50 acres of beautifully landscaped recreation areas. Within Baker Area Recreation visitors will enjoy quiet, peaceful walking tracks playgrounds, and a beautiful meeting facility able to accommodate gatherings from 10 – 150.
